Melrose Straitjacket (size large) This Melrose brand straitjacket is a common jacket from about the 1960s
or so. It buckles in the front, has side loops for the arms and fastens
with slider buckles. The buckles themselves are not all that secure,
particularly so since they are in the front, but the company has thoughtfully
included a diagram showing how each strap is to be knotted after the buckling.
The Melrose jacket is very similar to the Dandux jacket manufactured by
the C.R. Daniels Co. Indeed the Melrose jacket may have also been
made by the C. R. Daniels Co. If you know anything about the Melrose
jacket or its relation to the Dandux jacket please send me an email.
