The Humane Restraint jacket looks formidable, but is not actually all that secure. The canvas and straps are very strong, but it is usually very easy to squirm out of the jacket. There are no side or front loops meaning that it is easy to bring the arms over ones head. Securing the arm straps through one of the back straps makes this more difficult, but it still relatively easy to do. The jacket is also relatively uncomfortable. A good jacket for emergency situations and for that special photo opportunity, but not one you want for day to day usage. The model shown above lacks a crotch strap, but current models come with a crotch strap that greatly improves the security, see below. |
