Canadian Long Jacket
Unknown Canadian Long Jacket (size extra large)
This is a
unusual jacket
from an unknown manufacturer thought to be of Canadian origin. The
jacket was said to be used by the Candadian Royal Mounted Police. It is
an extra long jacket that lacks a crotch strap. Instead the bottom back of the jacket
is cut on a bias so the last buckle fastens below the
hips. This makes it very difficult for one to bring the jacket up over one's
head. For this to work the jacket needs to be sized properly. The
one shown here is extra large and most people could wiggle out easily.
It was originally purchased in eastern Canada in the mid 1960s.
If you can identify the manufacturer of this jacket please send us an
email.
