The kitchen was the first room to get a face over. The previous owners put down a blue tile floor. It could have been nice, but....the cement board was installed over old subfloor that was just loose boards. There was so much flexing of the floor, the tiles were popping off. Tearing up the tiles, I was able to salvage over 80% without any breakage! A wide quartersawn heart pine floor was installed. Woodwork is stripped. There was the most disgusting green paint that was a bear to get off. New cabinets were installed, and most of the old cabinets that were only a few years old were able to be reused.
