Dining Room

The Dining Room is pretty much a mirror image of the Living Room. When I aquired the house, the woodwork was painted black, and the walls were sponged with gold. The previous owners got tired of painting, and stopped in the middle of the bottom left window! I think they spent too much time watching HGTV!! I figured there had been a center window at one time. The original window was discovered hiding under a sheet of drywall! Outside they had just put up a piece of plywood to cover it. What a difference it has made uncovering this. The whole room is opened up. All the woodwork was stripped, the floor refinished, and Bradbury and Bradbury wallpaper installed. The gasolier is a working gas fixture from the 1860's. The side lights originally graced a home in Columbus, Ohio. They were a gift of a friend. These fixtures are combination gas/electric. The gas is functional, and the electic side of the fixtures are with antique mazda bulbs.
